Pamela Anderson welcomes audiences into her B.C. home in new TV show
Pamela Anderson has spent the last three years hard at work restoring her family property in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island.
Now, one of British Columbia’s most famous residents is ready to welcome viewers into her home in a limited series running on HGTV.
Anderson is originally from Ladysmith and grew up on the property which was owned by her grandparents. Back then, the property was known as the Arcady Auto-Court. One part was a car shop, and another part bed and breakfast that hosted honeymooners across the sprawling oceanfront property.

“It’s been so great to walk the same footsteps I did when I was younger. These trees have known me since birth,” Anderson told CityNews. “It just feels like me, the real me, just a small-town girl who went off and had a crazy life. Now, it feels like I’m living the way I always was going to. That makes me feel whole.”
Anderson has spent countless hours with her team renovating the property. She even won a Heritage Award from the Ladysmith & District Heritage Society for her work.
“I get people knocking on the door and sending me letters saying ‘thank you so much for what you’ve done with the property, we love watching it grow’. People have so many memories they share with me about being here and it’s been great to reconnect with the community like that,” she said.
Ladysmith Mayor Aaron Stone echoed that, saying it’s been great working with Anderson and her team on restoring the historic property.
“It’s really well done. It’s been a pleasure,” Stone said. “It shows in the results. From what we’ve seen, and what everyone will see on her show, it’s done with a sensitivity and a care that really shows her support for the community, the environment and the history of the place she has.”

The town of Ladysmith is no stranger to being on TV. The island town played Patience, Colorado in the Syfy comedy series “Resident Alien” and featured as Green Hills, Montana in “Sonic the Hedgehog.” This will be the first time Ladysmith will star as itself in a TV show.
“Having this exposure and getting people to know what Ladysmith is and what we’re all about is great for our community. We really look forward to people coming to Ladysmith for Ladysmith,” Stone added.
Outside of her renovations, Anderson’s been keeping busy. She’s fresh off a leading role in a Broadway production of Chicago as Roxie Hart. Anderson’s performance received rave reviews from critics. When she’s not gracing stages and screens across the world, Anderson says she’s getting her hands dirty in her garden.
“There’s always something to do. I’m out mowing the lawn, canning pickles, canning beets, I’m learning about all these family recipes, I’m cooking up a storm, my roses were spectacular this year. I’ve made every kind of tomato sauce you can think of. It’s never a boring day,” Anderson said.
