First responders found a man with serious injuries, and police say the initial investigation shows the incident is “isolated … and involves parties known to each other.”
In a statement, police say the 25-year-old victim was taken to hospital where he is in stable condition.
Early Thursday morning, police were then called to reports of a vehicle fire on 88A Avenue off 133A Street.
“Early indications are that this is a stolen vehicle, that fled the area after the shooting. Further analysis will be done to confirm any linkages to the shooting,” Const. Sarbjit K. Sangha said.
Anyone with information about the incident, including CCTV or dashcam footage of the area between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote Surrey RCMP file: 2022-167759.
