3 arrested after murder of Abbotsford couple

Seven months later, police say three suspects have been arrested for the murders of an Abbotsford couple.

On May 9, 77-year-old Arnold de Jong and his 76-year-old wife Joanne De Jong were found dead in their Abbotsford home.

The elderly couple were the founders of a local trucking company.

According to police, two counts each of first-degree murder have been handed out to three men from Surrey.

Sgt. Timoth Pierotti with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team identifies the three individuals as 20-year-old Gurkaran Singh, 22-year-old Abhijet Singh, and 22-year-old Khushver Toor.

IHIT says one of the three suspects was known to the family, but couldn’t report further on details of the case.
