Surrey RCMP warns against 2 men involved in gang activity

Surrey RCMP is asking people to avoid interacting with two people involved in gang activity.

Officers say the two have connections to violent activities and being near Karnvir Garcha and Harkirat Jhutty is dangerous.

They added that the men’s identities were released so that people, including family and friends, could take steps to ensure their own personal safety.

The individuals identified have been informed by police of credible threats to their safety, but the threat doesn’t just place them at risk, it poses a risk to anyone who associates with them or anyone who is in proximity to them, said Surrey RCMP’s major crime team lead, inspector Bal Hansra. Due to their association with gang activity, the drug trade, and violent acts such as shootings, these individuals have put themselves, their families, and the community at risk.

However, Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia S/Sgt. Lindsay Houghton says despite the threats, the two have “shown little regard for public safety.”

Police are asking people to report any information about recent incidents of violence or suspicious activity to police by calling 911.
