Suspect charged for shooting on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside
A suspect has been charged in Sunday’s shooting on the Downtown Eastside according to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD).
Police say a 31-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds after he was shot near Main Street and East Hastings Street around 2:30 p.m., the man was hospitalized shortly after.
“While some officers stayed to care for the injured man, others tracked the suspect as he fled from East Hastings to Chinatown, where he was arrested moments later,” police said.

In a VPD release Monday, police say 32-year-old Jamie George Guimond has been charged with attempted murder and discharging a firearm in connection with the incident.
Guimond will remain in custody until he appears in court Feb. 24.
Police add the victim is seriously injured, but expected to survive.
