A 62-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Burnaby Friday evening.

Police say they responded to a collision just after 7 p.m. on Marine Way between Nelson and Byrne Road.

The force’s Criminal Collision Investigation Team has been called out.

There are no details yet on the status of the driver.

Burnaby RCMP says eastbound traffic between Nelson and Byrne Road is expected to be closed for some time.
