Motorcyclist killed in Burnaby crash: RCMP
Mounties in Burnaby say a 27-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash Saturday morning.
The Burnaby RCMP says the collision happened between the motorcycle and a tractor-trailer around 11:20 a.m.
Police say the tractor-trailer was driving on North Fraser Way and was turning right onto Wiggins Street.

“The motorcycle attempted to pass the tractor-trailer on the right at a high rate of speed, resulting in the collision,” a news release reads.

Mounties say the motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Although police note the investigation is ongoing, “it appears speed was a contributing factor.”
“If you were in the area between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and have dash cam video, please contact our investigators,” Corp. Mike Kalanj said.
“If you witnessed the incident and have not spoken to police, we would like to hear from you.”

Police are asking anyone with information or dash cam footage from the area to call the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 and quote file number 2023-13190.
