Aggressive coyotes spotted in 2 Metro Vancouver parks: COS
The BC Conservation Officer Service (COS) says officials have responded to two incidents of aggressive coyote behaviour over the last few days.
In a statement, the COS says although no one was attacked, the coyotes “were displaying what was described as aggressive behaviour towards people.”
The COS adds that the coyotes didn’t come into physical contact with anyone, and no one was hurt.

In the first case, the COS says Coquitlam RCMP officers were called to Coquitlam’s Mundy Park on Sunday, and in the second, a coyote was spotted in the area of Gates Park in Port Coquitlam.
The service says adds that it’s important to be careful around coyotes at this time of the year and notes the importance of keeping pets on leashes, travelling in groups, and recommends carrying bear spray.
