3 charged after December Surrey robbery

Three people are facing charges after a robbery left a victim in hospital last December in Surrey.
In a statement Tuesday, the Surrey RCMP says on Dec. 23, officers were called to 102 Avenue near University Drive in the city’s Whalley neighbourhood after reports of a personal robbery on a “post-secondary campus.”
Police say by the time officers arrived, the three suspects had left the scene with the victim’s backpack and phone.

“The victim of the robbery sustained injuries and was transported to hospital,” police claim.
On June 14, 37-year-old Bruce Madill and 24-year-old Kaitlyn Sedore were charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm, and 44-year-old Charlie Platko was charged with robbery and assault.
“All parties have since been arrested and brought before the courts. Kaitlyn Sedore and Charles Platko have been released on conditions and Bruce Madill remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance,” Corp. Vanessa Munn said.
Madill is due to front court on Wednesday, according to court records online, while Sedore and Platko will front court on July 10.
