Coquihalla reopens after vehicle incident near Box Canyon
The southbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway have reopened after a vehicle incident between Merritt and Hope Monday.
The route reopened at around 2:30 a.m. after the hours-long closure near the Great Bear Snowshed and Box Canyon.
The vehicle incident had also shut the northbound lanes of the Coquihalla, though traffic in that direction was able to get through earlier in the day.

The area where the incident took place was likely along a fairly steep incline on Highway 5. A caller told CityNews it looked like a three-car collision involving a semi-truck.
DriveBC warned of “major delays” for some time as the issue was cleared.
