Hazardous travel conditions possible in Metro Van due to fog: ECCC

A fog advisory has been issued for a large part of Metro Vancouver, Victoria and the Sunshine Coast, according to Environment Canada.

Beginning Sunday night and continuing until Monday morning, the advisory cites “near zero visibility” is possible at times.

“Near zero visibility in fog may be hazardous for travel. Areas in fog that fall below freezing will have a risk of developing slippery surfaces,” reads the advisory.

Metro Vancouver, Greater Victoria, Southern Gulf Islands, East Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast are all listed as areas at risk of dangerously foggy conditions.

While visibility should improve Monday morning, Environment Canada warns of the potential for the fog to redevelop Monday evening due to conditions.
