Would-be robber tripped up by icy conditions: VPD

Slippery conditions may be to thank for a robbery attempt being foiled over the weekend.

According to police, a suspect reportedly sold a fake iPhone to someone they met via Facebook Marketplace in East Vancouver.

When they were trying to get away, the VPD says “the suspect hit some ice” before “gravity kicked in,” causing the seller to fall and drop the $1,200 he got from the sale.

Police say the victim was able to retrieve their cash, adding an investigation is ongoing.
