Stanley Park crash kills 18-year-old passenger, sends driver to hospital

An early morning single-vehicle crash in Stanley Park killed an 18-year-old on Friday, the Vancouver Police Department says. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO 1130 NEWSRADIO VANCOUVER LIVE!

Police say the white BMW was travelling along Stanley Park Drive between Second and Third beach around 3 a.m. when the driver lost control of the car and crashed into a tree.

“The 18-year-old passenger died at the scene. The driver was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries,” the VPD said Friday.

“Investigators don’t believe alcohol or drug impairment contributed to the collision.”

Police are now urging anyone with information about the incident, including those with dash cam footage, to call the VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
