Bomb squad called out to Burnaby car dealership

BURNABY (NEWS1130) – The RCMP bomb squad had to be called out to a Burnaby car dealership yesterday afternoon.

A suspicious package was found underneath a luxury car that was towed to the Carter Dodge Chrysler on Lougheed Highway near Brentwood Mall.

A mechanic found the item when the car was hoisted. Mounties say it was described as a box the size of a shoe box wrapped in tape.

The dealership was evacuated as Mounties investigated, but the RCMP have confirmed it was not actually a bomb.
