Don Cherry bar in Maple Ridge engulfed in flames

MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS1130) – Maple Ridge fire crews are battling a serious blaze this hour at the Don Cherry Sports Grill on 224th Street near the Haney Bypass.
Witnesses say the building was engulfed in flames before fire crews got there. Tom Lunderstedt was driving by when he saw the smoke and flames.
“The south side of it, the side of it that’s facing the river, is just completely engulfed in fire,” he tells News1130. “It’s sad. I’ve been in there, it’s a nice pub.”
The pub is part of a nationwide chain of 15 Don Cherry-themed eateries.
There is no word on the cause.
Apparently, the pub had been closed when the fire broke out.
