Three years since Yashpal Mehay went missing

SURREY (NEWS1130) – It’s been almost three years since the disappearance of a man from Surrey.
Yashpal Mehay, 43, left Surrey on July 14th, 2009. He was reported missing the next day when he didn’t arrive in Clinton, as he was supposed to. He drove the route every other week for the previous three years, as he helped run a gas station in the South Cariboo.
Mounties say Mehay was a religious man, a husband, and a father. He didn’t have any health, addiction, or marital problems. Mehay didn’t have any criminal record, either.
The RCMP haven’t found any evidence of foul play.
“The whole family is very devastated, especially Meetu his wife, my sister, and his two sons Barjesh and Bobby,” says Mehay’s brother-in-law, Bhagwant Sandi. “They miss him so much and it is becoming tougher and tougher for us all. Life has come to a standstill for everyone and we have no answers and no direction to lead.”
MEHAY was driving his grey 2004 Mazda MPV with BC licence 494KVK at the time. He was last seen on video surveillance at a Staples store iin Chilliwack on July 14, 2009.
It’s believed Mehay would have driven to Clinton via Highway 1 to Cache Creek, the north on Highway 97. Police searched the route, but haven’t found anything.
Mehay is a 43-year old South Asian man. he’s about 5’7″, 185 lbs, with short black hair, brown eyes, and a black moustache. He was last known to be wearing a striped green and white long-sleeved American Eagle shirt and khaki pants.
