CALGARY, AB (NEWS1130) – The BC Lions will try to snap a two-game losing streak as they face the Calgary Stampeders in a pivotal Western Division match-up.
After beginning the CFL season with two wins against Eastern Division opponents, the Leos have dropped their record to 2-2 with back-to-back losses to the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Eskimos.
The Lions will have defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell in the lineup as his two-game suspension is being appealed and his hearing is expected to come in the week of August 6th. Mitchell was hit with a two-game ban for an incident that occurred in the Leos loss to Edmonton last week.
BC Quarterback Travis Lulay has been unusually off the mark early in the season. The pivot has thrown a league-high five interceptions through the first four weeks.
Lions’ Wide Receiver Shawn Gore is expected to be back to full strength after playing the past two games with a tweaked hamstring.
Kick-off is at 6:00 p.m.
