Foodie Friday: Good eats for great causes

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There are a couple of events coming up in Vancouver that feature delicious food and fundraising for great causes.

The Passions Gala is coming up on September 9th, in support of the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation. It will be held at the Dr. Peter Centre on Comox Street in Vancouver.

“This evening features Vancouver’s top chefs dishing up delights while Wines of New Zeland pour sips to match.” says Cassandra Anderton from Good Life Vancouver.

Among the restaurants taking part will be Chambar, Beachside Forno, and Tojo’s.

One of Vancouver’s newest eateries is East of Main, featuring Mediterranean-style tapas and a large selection of craft beers.

“All profits from East of Main Cafe go to Project Limelight,” explains Anderton.

Project Limelight is a free theatre arts program for children on the Downtown Eastside.
