VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Brandon scored two power play goals in the third period to edge Vancouver at the Pacific Coliseum 3-2. Coquitlam’s Nick Buonassisi scored twice for the Wheat Kings.

The Giants got off to a wonderful start, as Jackson Houk score a couple of minutes into the game.

Buonassisi tied the game near the middle of the second period. His power play goal early in the third period gave the Wheat Kings the lead for good.

Brandon’s Tim McGauley scored the game winning goal, 78 seconds later with the man advantage.

Defenceman Brett Kulak wrapped up the scoring for Vancouver on the power play with four and a half minutes to go in the third period.

In his season debut, 16-year-old Payton Lee made 25 saves in the Giants goal.

That is five straight losses for Don Hay’s crew. They host Victoria on Friday.
