Deadly pedestrian accident in Burnaby

BURNABY (NEWS1130) – A man has been killed in a pedestrian accident on North Road near Lougheed in Burnaby.

Investigators are still trying to figure if the guy was jaywalking.

Staff Sergeant Steve Crawford says Burnaby RCMP got the call just after 5pm.

“Initially, Coquitlam RCMP got the call about a male that had been struck. The male victim was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital and has since been pronounced deceased”

It was dark and wet but investigators don’t know if those are part of the cause.

One witness tells News1130 it looks like a bag was left behind by the man.
