Clippers fall short in bid for 18th straight win

DENVER, CO (NEWS1130) – Danilo Gallinari led a group of six Denver Nuggets in double-digits with 17 points as they took a 92-78 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, ending the Clippers win-streak at 17 games.

The 17-game streak is the longest of its kind for the Clippers in franchise history.

Joining Gallinari in double-digits were Kenneth Faried (14), Andre Miller (12), Andre Iguodala (12), JaVale McGee (11), and Corey Brewer (10). Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe led the way offensively for the Clippers with 12 points each.

The win improves Denver’s home record to an NBA-best 10-1, and is its eighth win at home in a row. The Clippers had won seven road games in a row prior to the loss.

Los Angeles trailed by just five points at halftime, but Denver opened the game up in the third quarter, outscoring the Clippers 27-16.

The Clippers will now return to California to visit the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, while the Nuggets will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.
