RCMP cruiser crashes in Surrey

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Mounties in Surrey are investigating a crash involving one of their own.

Witnesses say it appears an RCMP cruiser slammed into a power pole at 144th Street and 72nd Avenue early this morning.

There are no further details about the crash at this time.

Elsewhere, it was a relatively quiet New Year’s Eve for local police.

RCMP and municipal forces around Metro Vancouver say they were busy with the expected complaints involving loud parties and drunks. They also responded to a slew of fights, but it there was nothing out of the ordinary.
