VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – This weekend has a little bit of something for everyone. Whether it’s music, culture, or an entertaining history lesson, there’s plenty to check out.

Help celebrate the 25th anniversary of Blue Rodeo‘s original album — Outskirts — Saturday at the Orpheum.

This is the last weekend you can check out some wintry attractions at Science World. Snow Storm, Snowflake Close-ups, Snow Quest Scavenger Hunt, and Snow Illusions come to an end this weekend.

The Cultch is offering some great performances at various venues around Vancouver.

The Vancouver International Film Festival‘s Year Round Showcase is on until the 10th at Vancity Theatre.

Drop by the Vancouver Police Museum for Women in Policing: 100 Years in the VPD.  You can even check out the old Coroner’s Court and learn about the history of lawlessness in our city.

Sunday is your last day to catch the Wizard of Oz at the Waterfront Theatre at Granville Island.

One of the many places you can recycle your old Christmas tree is at the UBC Botanical Gardens.  Take your holiday fir in for chipping before Jan. 10.

Looking for some fabulous fun? Check out the musical improv The Gay Mafia playing at the Jericho Arts Centre until the 12th.

It’s the final weekend to see Untold Stories: History of Immigrants in Vancouver at the Museum of Vancouver.

Stop by the Maritime Museum this weekend and make a sea shell picture frame or a button and fridge magnet.

Check out Sea/Life at the Beaty Biodiversity Museum at UBC.  The portrait series features creatures from, and our relationship with, the oceans.

New at Science World: KEVA Planks. Come and explore science and art through your imagination by using wooden planks to create anything.

New at the movies this weekend: Texas Chainsaw 3D; A Dark Truth; All Superheroes Must Die; Crawlspace; Allegiance and 56 Up.
