OREGON (NEWS1130) – The latest victim of the Vancouver-based bus crash in Northeastern Oregon is from the Lower Mainland.
Lieutenant Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police says the eighth person identified in the fatal crash is a 55-year-old man. “Mr. Seokmin Moon, he’s from Maple Ridge. His wife, whose name we haven’t released up to this point, she was citically injured.”
Choonja Moon, 53, remains in hospital in Seattle.
“I don’t know what the medical condition is, but her injuries were very serious. She’s being treated, she’s receiving excellent medical care and her family is with her at the hospital.”
Police are working with the family on funeral arrangements.
One person has yet to be identified.
Earlier this week, we told you Youmin Kim — an 11-year-old Korean girl — staying with a family in BC also died in that crash.
Nine people were killed last week after the bus, heading to Vancouver from Las Vegas, rolled 60 metres down a hill.
There were 38 passengers in total on the bus when it crashed.
