Double homicide in Hope

HOPE (NEWS1130) – Police are investigating a double homicide in Hope.
Two men were found dead in a rural home on Othello Road near Peers Creek Road at about 2:30 a.m. yesterday.
Police don’t know the names or even ages of these two men according to Sgt. Jennifer Pound with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
“Our priority at this point is to identify the two victims found within the residence and to notify their family,” says Pound. “I have no identifying factors on the victims at this point, we’re just asking that if anybody does have information on this to come forward.”
Without knowing who they are, police can’t really determine a motive.
“The cause of death is determined through an autopsy and that won’t be done today…but once we identify who those victims are, [it will help] determine a motive for this homicide,” says Pound.
She can’t say if there was forced entry or what weapons if any were involved in the killings.
Investigators will be working on scene with the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP in the coming days.
