Mother and two children found dead in Ontario home

STITTSVILLE, ONTARIO (NEWS1130) – Neighbours in the Granite Ridge Drive area of Stittsville are still coming to grips with a tragedy in their community.

Police are investigating after a stay-at-home mom, Alison Easton, and her two children were found dead inside their family home. Jon Corchis, the children’s father, discovered the bodies and called police yesterday afternoon.

Police say they are treating the investigation as a double murder-suicide.

The children, Katie, 6, and Alex, 10, attended Stittsville Public School, located across the street from their house. Grief counsellors have been called to the school. The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board says parent volunteers and extra supply teachers will be on hand today, as well.

Tonya Maraczk is a neighbor and said her daughter was best friends with the girl who lived there.

“I have no idea what I’m going to tell her,” says Maraczk. “How do you tell your five-year-old that her best friend is not able to play with her anymore?”

“I am not sure whether I will send them to school, what’s the front of the house going to look like? Is that yellow tape going to be there? Because that’s not okay,” adds Maraczk.
