VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – One of the notorious Bacon brothers will have to wait longer to appeal a lengthy prison sentence. The Abbotsford gangster was at the BC Court of Appeal where a hearing for his sentence has been adjourned.
The media was only told that Bacon’s lawyer was unavailable to comment and neither Crown Counsel or defence would say why. It’s unclear when the appeal will resume.
Last year, Bacon was sentenced to 12 years in prison for conspiracy to traffic cocaine worth millions of dollars. While he and his lawyers fight for less time behind bars, Crown Counsel is seeking more and is also appealing that original punishment. Because of double credit for time served, however, Bacon is actually serving a little more than seven years in prison.
