HOUSTON, TEXAS (NEWS1130) – At least three people have been taken to hospital following an exchange of gunfire on a campus of Lonestar College in Houston, Texas.
It happened just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, on the North Harris Campus.
So far one of the gunmen has been taken into hospital, but the second one remains on the loose.
One man, who saw it happen, described his experience to ABC News.
“We peaked out. We saw someone lying on the ground about 20, 30 feet away, and then they told everyone to go ahead and go back into the building because he had run into into another building on campus and was roaming around.”
There’s no word on the types or the severity of the injuries, although some report that the shooter is one of the injured.
As a result of the shooting, the Lone Star College is on lockdown and has issued an alert on its website, telling students and faculty to take immediate shelter or avoid the campus.
Investigators do not yet know which campus building the shooting began inside, or if campus police discharged their weapons in the incident.
A motive for the shooting is not known.
