VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Are you a saver or a spender?
A report out today that suggests Canadians are a bit of both.
On average, we are expected to save nearly $10,000 this year, according to the BMO Household Savings Report. In BC, that number is just over $11,000, second only to Alberta.
While those numbers are significantly up from last year, the research also shows what Canadians plan to do with that money.
Two-thirds of us say we plan to buy luxury, entertainment, and hobby items with the cash we worked so hard to save up.
Retirement and emergencies tied for second place in the survey.
