VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Former Giant Kale Kessy scored the only goal of the third period and added an assist as Kamloops defeated Vancouver 4-1 in the WHL. Defenceman Arvin Atwal scored the only goal for the Giants.

The visitors scored first on Joel Edmundson’s goal a dozen and a half minutes into the contest.

Atwal’s second of the season tied the game two minutes into the second period.

The Blazers bounced back a half minute later as Matt Needham scored, and just 65 seconds after that goal, Kamloops went up 3-1 on the 37th of the season by Colin Smith.

Vancouver was outshot 28-23 in front of 5,103 fans at the Coliseum.

Don Hay’s crew heads off on a four-game in five-day road trip to the US Division, starting Friday in Seattle.
