Canucks face near-perfect Blackhawks

CHICAGO, IL (NEWS1130) – Cory Schneider will get the start in goal when the Canucks visit Chicago today to renew their rivalry with the red-hot Blackhawks. The Canucks also stand in the way of Chicago tying the record for best starts to a season.
Luongo was in net for the 2-1 win over Chicago back on February 1st, while Schneider is 1-1-0 with a 4.60 lifetime GAA against the Blackhawks.
Chicago is 60 minutes away from joining the 2006-07 Anaheim Ducks as the only two teams to start a season with 16 games without a regulation loss. Chicago is tied with the 1984-85 Edmonton Oilers for the second-longest point streak to open the season. Both Anaheim and Edmonton won the Stanley Cup after their hot starts.
Winger David Booth is expected to play his first game of the season, after suffering a groin injury in training camp. Booth will start on the fourth forward line, pushing Aaron Volpatti to the press box. The Canucks have assigned forward Andrew Ebbett to the AHL Chicago Wolves after he cleared this week’s waivers.
The Blackhawks say defenseman Brent Seabrook will not play tonight. The Tsawwassen native picked up a lower-body injury against the LA Kings on Sunday.
