Canucks end three-game losing skid in Big D

DALLAS, TX (NEWS1130) – Henrik Sedin scored the game winner after completing a nifty passing play with Alex Burrows in the third period to lift Vancouver to a 4-3 win over the Stars.
Burrows also had a goal in the first.
The contest was level 2-2 heading into the final period. White Rock defenceman Jason Garrison broke the tie on a rising blast, two-and-half minutes into the third. Henrik’s second of the year was set up by Burrows, as they beat former Vancouver defenceman Aaron Rome.
Stars captain Brenden Morrow made it close, after Ryan Kesler over skated the puck on a face off in the Canucks zone. Kesler did have two assists in the game.
Vancouver impressively ran out the clock, by playing keep away with the puck on a power play in the Dallas zone for the final two minutes of the game.
Dallas‘ Michael Ryder and Kevin Bieksa exchanged back-handed shots for goals in the second period. It was the fifth goal in eight games for the Canucks defenceman.
The teams exchanged goals by Victoria’s Jamie Benn and Burrows in the first period.
Cory Schneider stopped 22 shots, while Cris Nilstorp made 18 saves in the Dallas goal.
The Canucks play in Nashville on Friday.
