Physicists planning anti-electron creation

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – So what do far-out physicists dream of? Bosons, anti-electrons and a 30 kilometre long particle collider!
We told you all about the meeting of some of the top minds in physics this week in Vancouver. Now we’re getting a peek at what they’re planning to do next.
They want to build the next generation Linear particle collider, possibly in Japan… an eight billion dollar, multi-country project.
Tim Meyer at the TRIUMF lab in Vancouver says it will let them study the Higgs boson in much greater detail.
“So the questions you hear in the hallways here is, what really is that particle we discovered? It’s definiately a discovery, but are sure we know what it is, and what does it do afterhours and you know, how many kids does it have home?” explains Meyer.
Hopefully unlocking the deepest mysteries about our origin… Carl Sagan would be overjoyed. “If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.”
