VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Unhappy, stressed out and disengaged at work?
A new study is showing job burnout isn’t just killing your mood.
It could actually be more dangerous to your health than smoking.
A new study has found most ‘disenchanted’ employees can develop heart disease almost 80 per cent faster than their peers.
One of the lead authors of the study says they looked at over 8,000 relatively healthy people over three years.
Some of the factors that contribute to burnout include high stress, a lack of control, a heavy workload and no emotional support.
The study is published in the journal Psychosomatic Medicine.
