VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Roberto Luongo will get the start tonight for the Canucks in game one of their playoff series against the Sharks.

The coaches and training staff say Cory Schneider is not quite ready to play and is still suffering from a mysterious injury.

It looked like Schneider would get the call during this morning’s skate, but Luongo was named the starter shortly afterwards.

He’ll be looking to bounce back after that horrible 7-2 loss in Edmonton on Saturday night.

Ryan Kesler opted out of this morning’s skate, but will play tonight. Youngster Frank Corrado will also get his  first taste of the NHL playoffs. It’s just the third game of his NHL career.

The puck drops shortly after 7:30 p.m. Game two goes at 7 p.m. on Friday.
