BURNABY (NEWS1130) – It’s the second year for a free one-day dental clinic offered by CDI College in Burnaby along with UBC dental alumni and students.
The team of volunteers is providing the necessary service for people who otherwise just couldn’t afford it.
Even a checkup and X-rays can cost hundreds of dollars and though regular dental health is important, it’s sometimes just out of reach financially for people like Diane Simpson.
“I’m working with a low income. I have a 16-year-old daughter who does get dental treatment but I tend not to get treatment because of the expense.”
Dentists will see just under 50 patients throughout the day doing everything from cleanings to full tooth extractions if needed.
The volunteers say they’re happy to be lending their expertise.
