Environment Canada warns winter weather is approaching

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Get out your winter boots and bundle up. Despite the rain we’re seeing now, Environment Canada is warning it’s going to be a cold one, starting tomorrow. They’ve issued a special weather statement.

The Pacific front that’s been drenching the Lower Mainland for the last week is moving out, making way for an Arctic front, and Environment Canada is warning that means the thermometer is about to drop.

It’s snow, for the North Coast anyway, with snow levels there dropping Sunday. And a heavy dose of the white stuff is also expected in the interior along Highway 3, the Coquihalla, Trans Canada and Highway 97 so if you’re heading East, make sure you have snow tires or chains.

That Arctic weather is expected to reach Vancouver late Monday, bringing the possibility of a few flurries, and temperatures that are going to make you want to put on a sweater.
