Edler out indefinitely for Canucks

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Defenseman Alex Edler was not at Canucks practice with what’s believed to be a knee injury and the team says he is out indefinitely and will be re-evaluated later today.
Edler was injured in Tuesday’s 3-1 victory over the Predators in Nashville. The team is not disclosing his injury yet, but Edler has been spotted limping around Rogers Arena, with his right knee wrapped.
With Edler out, veteran Andrew Alberts will finally get a chance to see soem game action. Alberts has played just three games this season, registering zero points. Alberts says it’s been tough sitting out but he’s willing to do what it takes to win.
“You want to contribute, and you want to do everything you can do help the team win. If it’s somebody else playing in front of me, that’s fine, but when I get my chance, I just want to make the most of it.”
The Canucks are preparing to open a five-game homestand against the Phoenix Coyotes tomorrow night. Vancouver went 3-1-0 on its four-game road trip which just wrapped up. Prior to that, the Canucks amassed a 1-2-3 record on a six-game homestand.
