Freezing rain expected to be gone after tomorrow

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – First it was snow, then it was rain… and today, we’ve seen snow and a freezing drizzle! The weather has made for a very slippery commute on Lower Mainland roads.
News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate tells us there’s a light but cold easterly wind hitting us. “It’s got this thin layer of Arctic air sort of drifting around… We’re seeing precipitation changing between snow and flurries and sleet and freezing rain.”
“It’s all combining to make for a very slippery and icy morning around Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. By mid-day, I don’t think it’s much warmer, but it should be drier. Precipitation should taper off this afternoon. It’ll be mostly cloudy and the high is plus-1.”
Russ expects we’ll see more icy conditions tonight, with the temperature dipping to minus-1. “Then tomorrow’s high is plus-3. It’s a cloudy Wednesday, but there is a shrinking chance of additional showers or flurries for tomorrow.”
“I think finally, we can exhale on Thursday; it looks like it will pour rain with a high of five degrees,” he adds.
