Canucks host Bruins in 2011 Cup Final rematch

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s a rematch many fans have been waiting for.
The Vancouver Canucks are at home tonight at 7 pm to the Boston Bruins for the first time since Game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals.
On June 15th, 2011, the Boston Bruins blanked the Canucks 4-0 to clinch the Stanley Cup. The Canucks traveled to Boston the next year, and tripped the Bruins 4-3.
Shawn Thornton will miss tonight’s game. He’s been suspended 15 games for the incident with Pittsburgh Penguins’ Brooks Orpik.
Canucks Head Coach John Tortorella thinks there is too much emphasis on the rematch.
“That’s all you guys talk about is Boston,” said Tortorella after Friday’s 4-0 win against the Edmonton Oilers. “Didn’t that happen about 20 years ago?”
Roberto Luongo says it will be a fun game to play.
“It’s been a few years now, I think we’ve all moved on,” said Luongo. “That being said, I mean, there’s a history there, and those are the type of games you want to be playing in.”
The Canucks have won all four games of their current home stand and six in a row total.
The Bruins are coming in winning four in a row and six of their last seven.
