$2,000 reward offered in connection with coal protest

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The union that represents office workers at Port Metro Vancouver is offering up a reward.
It comes in response to a protest that took place at the offices at Canada Place on Monday.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union is offering $2,000 to anyone who can identify the protesters.
During the demonstration, one of the protesters managed to get into the interior of the office and let in six other protesters, clad in Santa costumes and bandanas over their lower faces.
The union’s Mark Gordienko says workers had charcoal briquettes thrown at them.
“They were quite traumatized by this. They’re mainly female clerical staff. We’re pretty unhappy about it,” he says.
“I’ve taken part in many, many protests over the years. I’ve never seen a situation like this where you go out and terrorize people and attack them in their work place. That kind of behaviour is despicable.”
The protesters were drawing attention to the proposed coal transfer facility at Fraser Surrey Docks.
