Man arrested after multiple sexual assaults in Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Police have arrested a 40-year-old man they say could be linked to multiple robberies and sexual offences around the Lower Mainland.
There were three separate incidents last night; thankfully, none of the victims were hurt.
In the first case, a man was apparently peering into a home, but was scared away by a family dog.
In the second case, a man apparently went up to a woman and tried to rob her at gunpoint and exposed himself to her. The man was scared off by two witnesses.
In the third incident, a woman says a man ran up to her and pulled out a gun, robbing her of her purse before telling the woman to expose herself.
A suspect was arrested at a motel in Burnaby. Constable Brian Montague says the accused has a criminal record that dates back several years.
“It appears as though he moved back to British Columbia about five months ago. These are all parts of the investigation that we’re going to have to look at to see where he was when certain offences occurred and whether or not he may be responsible for some unsolved cases,” he tells us.
Charges have been recommended, but not yet approved.
The VPD is asking for anyone who may also have been a victim of such an attack or has more information to give them a call.
