Police-involved shooting in Langley

LANGLEY (NEWS1130) – Langley and Surrey RCMP are investigating a police-involved shooting in Langley.
Lisa, a News1130 listener, heard the shots fired. “There was a shooting, police shooting at a vehicle that was fleeing. They closed off the intersection, I guess, to do their investigation. I know they shot the window of the vehicle,” she explains.
Hedy, another caller to News1130 was behind the police car. She says she watched as officers tried to box in a black vehicle, but the driver managed to take off. She says that’s when officers pulled their guns. “At very close range, five or six feet, two police men jumped out of their car, one with a rifle and one with a gun. They both fired a shot at the black car.”
She says it all happened very quickly. “I saw the little car going back and forth, back and forth, and I said ‘I can’t believe, he can’t get away, he’s wedged in.’ He made it out!”
She says the sped off toward Surrey.
RCMP say the vehicle is stolen and that is crashed into police cruisers.
No injuries have been reported.
