Fire at North Vancouver daycare

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – An arson specialist is investigating an early morning fire at a daycare just off of Marine Drive.
“They’re looking for anything that would be accelerants, anything that would make this fire suspicious. If it’s determined to be suspicious then our General Investigation Section will move in,” explains RCMP Sgt. Dennis Dionne
Flames broke out just after 4 a.m. The daycare near Norgate Elementary has been gutted.
Lisa Hubbard is the executive director of the daycare… she says about 35 families use the facility. “You know, we’ll try to accommodate the families. We have lots of other sites and we’ll do what we can to make sure there is a continuity of care with our providers. We want to cause the least amount of stress on the children and families.”
She says an emergency meeting will be held later today.
No one was inside at the time. The extent of damages isn’t known.
