Matthew Huszar’s body found in False Creek

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The search for Matthew Huszar is over.

The body of the Vancouver man, who had been missing for two years, was found New Year’s Eve.

According to police, his remains were found in water at a marina in False Creek.

The 25-year-old was last seen leaving an office Christmas party near Water and Abbott Street, on Dec. 16, 2011.

As recently as a few weeks ago, missing person posters were still seen up around the city, and a $10,000 reward for information on his whereabouts was still being offered.

The family insisted his disappearance was out of character, because he had no known mental health or substance abuse issues.

Police say his death does not indicate anything suspicious.
