Body of missing hiker found

NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The body of missing hiker David Liu has been found.

Corporal Richard De Jong with North Vancouver RCMP says the body of the 43-year-old White Rock man was discovered by a hiker in Lynn Creek on Friday.

“It was a lone hiker walking in the area that looked down into the creek bed and found him partially submerged and partly on the rocks,” he explains.

He says it’s too early to say how Liu died, but foul play is not suspected.

“We may never know exactly how he died. It looked like he’d been in the water for some time. We had been searching that area for the last month, so it’s hard to say. Cause of death will be determined by the coroner’s service.”

Liu had been missing since December 12th after going for a hike on the North Shore.
