LAS VEGAS (NEWS1130) – As TVs get better with higher resolutions and bigger screens, sometimes your mobile device just isn’t going to cut it when it comes to shooting videos.
Brent de Waal with Sony Canada is at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week; he’s from Vancouver and knows a lot about shooting footage outdoors and having fun with a variety of cameras.
“With our new action cam, this year’s model is splash-proof, so you don’t have to put it in a protective case, even if it starts to rain while you’re biking down that trail,” he tells us.
“What you get is a tiny device that has a great wide-angle lens and allows you to shoot from a new perspective. So, you can see your bike ride, snowboard or kayaking… We even have a mount so you can watch what your dog does while you’re on the trails with you.”
The camera connects via WiFi to your phone or tablet.
“The great thing about WiFi is it allows us to make the device smaller and you can use your device to be the remote control and watch the footage and still keep that camera nice and rugged but still have all kinds of great flexibility,” explains de Waal.
