Online security threats constantly changing

LAS VEGAS (NEWS1130) – The number of laptops, tablets, and mobile devices in the market can be overwhelming and often cause a consumer to forget about online security.
Antonio Sanchez with Symantec says there are a number of risks you should know about this year. “There’s a ton of risks, the threat landscape changes all the time, and now more than ever tablets and mobile devices of all types are being very heavily targeted by the bad guys.
He says people need to be aware that their privacy can easily be violated. “It’s very common that cyber-criminals can create what seems like a legitimate app and you, as a user, would download it and in the background it could be doing things like collecting instant messages, collecting your contact information, contacting your calls logs, and sending that information out somewhere.”
He says Norton Mobile Security can help protect you and your information. “It can scan your apps on your devices and make sure it’s not doing something that it shouldn’t be doing.”
He says it will also clean your device of any malware that may be on it.
