Wearable technology trending at CES

By

LAS VEGAS (NEWS1130) – The social command centre at the International Consumer Electronics Show is as impressive as one may imagine.

Patrick Charlton at the command centre say wearable technology is making up 55 per cent of all tweets related to CES. “This morning, wearable technology is a big, big talking point with Intel and a bunch of other companies releasing a lot of stuff. A lot of people are tweeting, facebooking, and instagraming information about that and tagging it with CES. It will then appear live on our command centre.”

Charlton says social media trends can really determine what will be popular among consumers. “Sports bands, watches, small watches, seem to be really popular. Also curved televisions are a big talking point. This isn’t the press talking about it, this is more people’s conversations being picked up on Twitter and facebook that we’re looking at.”

He says the conversations are more organic, rather than media-led.
