Commuters take their clothes off for Pants Off ride

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If you were riding SkyTrain in Vancouver and Burnaby Sunday, you may have noticed some passengers without their pants on.
That’s because they were honouring the fifth annual No Pants SkyTrain Ride.
“This is impressive!” called out organizer Larry Piche with Vancouver Improv Anywhere, when he took a look at the size of the crowd that had gathered at the Commercial SkyTrain station at 4 p.m. to take part.
At least 100 daring souls doffed their pants once on the train headed towards Vancouver.
Why?
“Just to say that we did. To live in the moment,” said one woman.
“For fun, to make people laugh,” said a young gentleman.
“It’s my second time. I did it last year. It was fun. It was awesome,” said a 12-year-old, who added that he had his parents’ permission to take part.
Piche himself can’t produce a reason.
“It’s our fifth year. What is the reason behind it? I was trying to come up with something that was funny and original and I couldn’t. There really isn’t a reason why. It comes down to why not?”
And what kinds of skivvies does one wear for such an occasion?
“Just underwear, yeah.”
“I’m wearing my special Family Guy underwear.”
“I’m keeping on the boots.”
“I’m wearing black, sexy, short underwear!”
Locals, apparently, look forward to letting it all hang out.
“People are looking for a reason to drop their pants,” says Piche.
